Small changes you can't see. - Misc - Site News - NaNoWriMo
Posted on: 2009-11-13 05:30:39

I didn't work on NaNoWriMo today. It isn't that I am out of ideas, I just didn't feel like messing with it. Instead I cleaned. My little room is much, much cleaner. I moved most of the furniture around, gave the vacuum a workout, pitched a bunch of stuff, did some dishes, and a bunch of other stuff I can't remember now. I also listened to several episodes of Buzz Out Loud (I am way behind).

I also did some stuff with rantfest. I vaguely mentioned changes I made to the code in my most recent DST rant. Today's changes involved settings stuff to make changes that were mostly cosmetic. For instance, I can now make the categories disappear from the posts, or change the separators (right now [ category ]) to pretty much whatever, and some other stuff. There are some more little tweaks that might pop up soon, but I wouldn't expect them, especially if I get back to writing.

And no, you probably won't see any of these changes on my page anytime soon. They are all changes to how things look, and well, I made the page look the way I wanted the first time. Besides, I love talking about these little things my listeners will never see.

So did you fix this DST thing? I guess the changes mean that some category may disappear but probably won't because you like them the way they are.

Not really

I did add a place to change the timezone and tell it to use DST, but it still isn't 100% accurate. It changes the date across the site. So when we move forward an hour, the entire site moves forward, not just the time-span that should be effected. I am honestly not sure who easy it will be to fix that.
