Complacency 451 - Books
Posted on: 2007-09-11 01:49:27

It does not seem like it has been over two weeks since I posted. I have had tons of half thought ideas for posts. ...lots of deleted garbage... I have been "reading" this 150 page book for a couple of weeks...and I am only on page 94. Yes, I am a slow reader, but not near that slow. I can't seem to read more than 4-5 pages without stopping and reflecting about it relevence. With a few minor technological differences, it is really a picture of the modern world, and quite indirectly is totally about itself. ...more deleted garbage...

I honestly don't think I have been able to form a cogent thought since I started reading this book. I can't seem to finish anything! Nothing seems relevant or important enough to keep doing. I have had a dozen or so posts in mind, but have yet to finish them. As you can see, I stopped with the post already and deleted a ton of stuff and switched gears. And, well, I think I am just going to stop here, and go do something else that may or may not be relevant.

Something relevant

How's Katie's programing going? Or the catalog program for Erin? Haven't heard anything about them for a while. If the book is messing with you I'd quit reading it but I get the impression that it isn't the base cause.

Katie's site is done for now, at least my end. I have made a little progress on the catalog program, but entirely in the planning and database areas and not the code, I have also made several tweaks to the database for the blogs in anticipation for when I get back around to coding. As for not finishing the book, well, I would hate to prove the book right, but that seems to be what I am doing. Since it is not mine, I can't burn it (which is what I want to do just for the self referential value), so I have to finish it. And I have no idea why I am taking this of all the books I have read so seriously.

I did get the email, but it was gibberish. I am not sure where along the line it was turned to gibberish, but it would be cool if you try to send it again.

The book is Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.

Ok

I sent it again. Yeah I didn't read 451, my english teacher that year was a medicated schizophrenic (her announcement the first 10 minutes of the first day of class) and I just kind of wrote the class off then.
