A new project.... - Programming

So the wife gave me a new project to work on today. She was gathering up all her notes and notebooks for her novels and wanted a way to organize them. I have been wanting a data repository kind of program for a while now. After a bit of bouncing ideas back and forth, the biggest desired feature we both wanted was basically a database with a front end that supports categories for information retrieval. So, in a way, it is like a portable rantfest, only this time it is written in visual basic with an access backend instead of perl with a mysql backend.

It is going to be an interesting project. I have not touched a language other than perl for a very long time. Thankfully Visual Basic is made to be a quick and dirty programming language.

Is that anything like Basica that came out with the original PCs? Been a long time but I still remember a lot of that stuff.

I am sure if I had spent more time with basic back in the day I could answer that question, but the last time I touched basic was in 4th grade and that was not much.
