One of the obvious goals (but sadly not the last goal) before opening rf2 to the world was to finish adding some features to the page editing scripts. One of the goals was to finish the bang boxes, which are just little commands for adding the login box, recently posted to rants box, and the search box. I spent some time tonight getting those to work. The login box and search box were cake while the posted box needs some refining as well as the search results page. But I might be dropping the search altogether for a google site search if end up liking it, since I don't like how I am doing the current search.

Still on the list: better user create page, rework of the backend theme, some user documentation, a better default theme for new users, and potentially some profile stuff...not sure. The biggest thing, and really the only problem I am having, is cookie handleing. For lack of a simpler way to do it, I am using cookies to help authenticate users. The problem here is that cookies are server specific, and we have 3 servers we are playing on. Sure, it would not be a problem to have the user have to log in on each server once every so often, but that also means that I have to accomodate information for at least 3 sessions. To do this is not a problem, I am just trying to figure out if it is the best way to do it. If I do go this route, I will probably add in a 4th session so that when editing pages and posting to their own blog only a temporary cookie is formed, but the sessions for posting to other peoples blogs will be persistant.

Oh well, it is getting late, I feel like dieing, and I think I am rambling. Night.
