We live in a world that just happened to exist. No god made it or started some great big chain of events leading up to it. This world exist, I exist, shit just exist. I don't really have a good way of explaining it, but whatever. The point I hope I got across was that one way or another this reality exist. All the people exist, trees, walls, yadda yadda yadda. But what if someone has a problem with something existing? People change it to match how they think it should exist. There are, however, things that can't be changed by us mere mortals. How an economy works, how many moons Jupiter has, what the guy in China is going to eat for breakfast, or when someone dies. Maybe some of those things can be changed by one person. Sooner or later you won't be able to change it anymore. Then what? Or even better, someone comes in and tries to change it to match their way. What the hell are you going to do then?

The human race is so insecure with the thought of not having control over anything. The fact that they wake up one day to find that they have this body that is able to manipulate things is just the first step into that. They grab a rock and bash a rabbits head in makes them think that they are god. That they are capable of doing anything they can think of. Eventually a language was developed amongst this race, and with it came the thought that they could manipulate others into doing what that person could do that perhaps they couldn't. Where the fuck humans thought they could make people change for their liking... I don't know. Religions, "think like me," "do what I say because I know best," all of this is just some control issues with their own life. Somehow by controlling other people's lives it makes them feel as though... they have to deserve to exist. When did we have to deserve that? When the sperm hit the egg? When we found our consciousness? When we started to consume resources to survive?

There are several things that have set me off on this subject; Erando's latest post, a paper I have to write, and an anime that I've watched many times over. The anime is very good, and the manga is just as good. You can go to Erando's site for her post. The paper has to be written about this idea of "The Other." What the hell is it though? It is basically superiority complexion with control issues and extreme discrimination. Examples? Why, religion takes the number one spot. Why? Because Hitler is fucking DEAD! Of course saying "religion takes the number one spot," is a bit broad, unfair, and perhaps hypocritical, it doesn't stop the fact that it is still number one. And if you are still wondering how I came to that conclusion... well, you haven't read Erando's post now have you? Admittedly I am being a bit lazy by not providing a link to it... but I doubt anyone that is reading this can't find their way on their own. TAKE THAT OTHERS!!! As for the anime/manga, I truly believe that it is so good that everyone should watch/read them. HA HA!!! Hypocrisy at its best!!! Despite that, this anime/manga is a must for anyone who likes psychology. Even if it is just a little bit. I'll go ahead an give you the title (I still prefer the fansub over the company one. AND I DEFINITELY PREFER THE JAPANESE OVER THE ENGLISH DUB!) which is "Elfen Lied."

Humans are an annoying enigma that will never be fully understood. Not even understanding oneself is possible. We've been forced one this ride called life. We may be able to get off before the end, but we might as well suck it up and enjoy the parts that are actually fun, because the people before us did and while it felt lonely on that ride it won't when we get off.
