It is the end of October, if you haven't noticed. This of course means costumes, drunk people in costumes, drunk sluts... wait... isn't there more to Halloween than these things? Well there are but I only feel like covering about two or so.
This is starting to become a tradition for us: pumpkin seeds. Or roasting and eating them. Whatever! I decided that I wanted to try this out for myself. Not the hardest thing on the planet, but at the same time it gives you the feeling of being too easy. Get a pumpkin, cut open, extract and clean seeds, boil seeds in water and salt until there is little water left, put the seeds on a cookie sheet (the hardest part was getting one...) roast in an oven for about thirty minutes at about two hundred twenty-five degrees and occasionally flipping the seeds over to ensure they don't stick and/or burn. So far people like them. They seem fine to me and since no one has been sent to hospital (as far as I know) I can call this a success. YAY! Directions and what not.What does one do with the pumpkin then? Carve it? Throw it at someone's head? Throw it at someone's head and then carve it? While I could make a really long list of things that people can (and probably shouldn't) do with a pumpkin that has had its guts removed, we don't have time for that... and I am kind of tired. Anyways... I really wanted to try my hand at carving a pumpkin... and that turned out to be butchering, rather than carving... While I have a few pictures showing my progression from start to finish, I figured if you really want to see them, you are going to just have to ask for them. I don't have what the pumpkin looked like before I marked up, so... uh, suck it up. Here is the first of the two finished pictures:

Not how I imaged it would come out... but hey! I did a decent job for the first time butchering a pumpkin. Here is the pumpkin with a flashlight (because we still can't light candles here...) in it:
I think this is worse than the first one. Then again the lighting in the second one isn't very good... In case you are wondering as to what it should have looked like, here it is:
I'll explain the image a bit later. There are some details that I fucked up really bad on it. The biggest two being the very center of the thing and the outer ring. There should be another ring in the center and the outer ring isn't very visible. I have to admit that the second finished picture shows it, but it still isn't very good.
As for the logo that I used for a model, it is from the anime titled "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya." The heroine (or the girl/woman that is involved in the plot the most) Haruhi Suzumiya makes her own club. After explaining what the club is for and kidnapping someone, she comes up with the name "Sekai wo Ooini Moriagerutame no Suzumiya Haruhi no Dan." Fun to read, no? It basically means "Flooding the World with Fun so Haruhi Suzumiya doesn't get bored Brigade" or something along those lines. As you can already tell, the name is fucking long. They then shortened it to "SOS Dan" or "SOS Brigade." To finish explaining the name... Since you are undoubtedly wondering where the hell the letters came from, Sekai Ooini Suzumiya Dan. Take the first letter from the first three of those words and you have SOS Dan. YAY!!! As for the logo, Suzumiya made it with SOS in the middle leading down to the character "Dan." As for all of the curvy lines and the weird ass color choices... I don't know. Here is a look at the mastermind of all of this. Look at the face of god...
