Kaplow, it's a post! - Misc - Computer - DADC
Posted on: 2006-08-11 07:05:12

A couple of catch up things since I have not been posting much recently. My life has become so boring that my posting life is slipping from 2-3 times a week to just once. So here is my just once:

First up: newegg.com is really, really dumb. For awhile now, I have been recommending newegg.com to people. I started using it to buy misc components for our computers after the fiasco with our processors that we got from random nameless company we found on pricewatch.com. Anyways, I ordered a processor fan, order went through ok, but later I got an email saying my card was declined. Looking over the email, I noticed that I simply switched the month and year around on my expiration date. They provided a link to change card info, so I clicked it and went through the motions. Long story short, after three days of my card info not changing and getting emails with links to change that info, I called to complain. The womans responce was that the link was there not to change the current order info, but for later orders...thus not belonging in the email. This should reach me later today.

Second: My hands hurt. At work the other night, we noticed that the plastic film that holds the title page in a PS2 case was ripping. Not being product that should be sent out, we broke down boxes of PS2 cases for about 4 hours in order to determine how long the problem had been going on. Now PS2 games are packaged kinda wierd. There are three inner cartons inside an outer carton, and 4 pieces of product inside every inner carton. No clue why they are packaged that way, but oh well. We broke down about 1500 pieces that lived in one way or another in about 500 boxes. My hands were covered in tiny paper and cardboard cuts. At one point, I was bleeding around one of my nails and the next morning my hands ached so much it felt like I had really bad arthritis. The next night, we noticed that it started doing it again, but we stoppen in time to not have a lot to break down.

Finally: I am exhausted. I have no idea why, but during my days off this week, I have been falling asleep all the time, and when I am not falling asleep, I want to sleep. Hell, I started this past two or three days ago, and I am just now getting around to finishing it. My sleep schedule is totally messed up, but I am hoping to get back to normal before work on Sunday.

Gotta love the feeling of zombieness all the time - NOT! =) That is the single most important life style issue I had with working nights; not everyone else does it so it is expected of you that you bend and break yourself to be a daywalker. =)
