With exception of the power outage we had here from around 3am-5am, I have been fairly solidly working on RCM since around 2am. The only noticable changes to the current version is the 'RCM' image is now a clicky, the page validates HTML 4.01 again, and it is not autofilling your Name and URL on the Create page if you have posted before. The not so noticable change made to the current version is that when a new comic is created a comments table is created along side it kinda like I do in rantfest for user comments.
Now, the version that is not live yet got a lot more attention. I have integrated login capability and new user creation into the mix. Along with that came some changes and additions to the database to accomodate the changes. I am almost satisfied with how it is behaving, and I don't think it will take too much work to get to where I am happy with it. Once that is going, I will be locking down user additions to the site unless they are logged in, but I am also going to add in per comic user comments, a profile page for each member with basic usage info, and against my better judgement, a rating mechanism (probably a 5 star kinda thing). The comments, profile page, and rating system should not take long as long as my login mechanism is working happy. After that it will just be a matter of taking a good look at the code and trimming the fat. I have a feeling that RCM is going to overtake rantfest in lines of code before I am done.
