Ok, I think I got it this time. - Site News

Ok, so I rewrote the box code again, and it appears to be working across both sites this time. Yay to me, I guess. The significant change is they have been individualized into functions instead of having them run every time the page loads regardless of if the author included them...no clue why I had done that. Plus, I added them to my parsing function, so I can put these anywhere...like here.

I remade the category bar because the wife liked it. Now she can put it where ever the hell she wants. It works the same as it always did, but now it is not static anymore.

Posts per page: Categories:

I also wanted a paragraph listing of categories, but instead I figured it would be fun to make it a cloud since word clouds seem to be all the hype right now. I am not totally satisfied with it. Since the links are randomly placed, some can pop on top and make the ones under unclickable. Oh well, it was a fun exercise. I will probably have to toy with the sizing more. I probably ought to work on finding a balance between 10px and 50px. Right now the smallest is 11px, and the rest scale up from there. So, essentially, if I had 200 Misc posts with a total of 300 posts, the size would be around 123px. Problem comes in when the number of posts for a given category get really close to the total number of posts and when there are fewer posts (like starting new). So, I guess I should less boring and do new things...right.

Sweet!

I like it. I also think it's cool that when you refresh the page or jump to the commenting part, it changes every time. Push come to shove, if people can't reach a link they want, they can hit F5 and it'll move. After all, who other than you or me really uses the category function on Rantfest anyway? ;)

Regardless, I like it and I want you to teach me how to put it up on my site. I think it'll be spiffy. I've thought the top area above my posts was looking a bit bland ever since you pulled out the "posts per page" and "categories" bar. Now I get a word cloud! :D

Ah ha!

That's what that is...

You can use <b></b> <i></i> <u></u> tags.
