The only thing I know is they are starting from scratch (which means it will be buggy as hell for awhile). With the in house builds so far, the overhead is smaller than the current version and they expect it to get a little smaller yet. It is also faster all around, with some small areas being significantly faster. Plus they are promising a myriad of new features even if they are not telling us exactly what they might be. While I am sure I will not care at all about the new features, having a slightly smaller overhead would be nice.

...and it beats running gaim.
