Old things become new again. - Site News
Posted on: 2006-02-09 15:08:44

I finally got around to bringing all of our old posts and your old posts back from the grave, and it only took me since last August to muster the motivation to do it. :) Admittedly, a lot of that time I was either working on something else on the page...or forgetting about, but still, it is done now, sorta. Since they are old and built around the previous database format, I am not letting any new posts be added to them. I don't want to have to write more code than I need to just to get some old stuff working. Also, since a lot of the pictures and files we had up on the site while we were hosting the site are either in different places or not here at all, there will be broken links, but all the content is there. The broken links will be fixed when I convince myself to rebuild the back pages for the old setup and then muster up the gumption to go through the 200+ posts to make sure they are all happy. I am also not sure if I am going to bother getting the Search function to poll the old posts...I probably will, but will probably be awhile as well. Anyways, the link to the old stuff is oddly in the most logical place for it, on the bottom of the page where you would get access to previous posts since the move. Isn't that exciting? Oh, and all the old posts are likewise accessible on the wife's page, www.writingingreen.com.

I am never moving again

My webpage that is. All the link fixing and picture coding was enough to make me want to stab my eyeballs out with toothpicks. Good luck!

Toothpicks would take far too long. I highly suggest ice pics, corkscrews or just plain knives. ;) That said, I haven't been messing with any aspect of this 'moving' thing beyond small traces of input, so I can't really sympathize with the pain you're both suffering. *shrug*
