I just found out that there will in fact be an expasion for WoW called the Wrath of the Lich King (there has been rumors for a couple of weeks, but nothing reliable). I was reading through the new features listed and was terribly amused. Keep in mind these are all early details and may change.

I thought it would be fun to take a few minutes (turned out to be more like 20 minutes) and see just how much I have made in the bazaar. My logs go back to April 27 last year—started my bazaar seller in January—so I am missing a couple of months. I tossed my log files over to the server, grepped out all the lines that did not contain sales ( parsed file ...edited to actually work now.), and then brought it back over and messed with it in Excel because I was too lazy to write a script to do it. Now assuming I did everything right, we have the following results:

Posted on: 2006-12-19 16:27:44[ More - 7 comments ]After checking my bazaar sells in EverQuest (yeah, I started back about a week or so ago), I rebooted my computer to shed off some lag and tried to log back in only to get a message that my account had been suspended. After about 20 minutes on hold with customer service, I find that it was due to "inappropriate language". I know I use obscenities on my blog and in real life where appropriate, but I only do in game with people I know in real life (ie tBoMM, because he is the only one I know who plays). When dealing with other people in game; I don't bad mouth people; I don't talk about politics (other than to say I don't follow them); I am not racist; and I only rarely talk about religeon. Hell, generally I don't bother talking to people at all.

I hate it in a way that has nothing to do with where I work, who I work with, or what I do. Anyways, totally unrelated, I should be there right now. I, uh, kinda slept in. And since showing 1 minute late yields the same number of points as showing up 4 hours late, I am doing the 4 hours thing. I don't really feel well anyways, but I am hoping that it passes by the time I have to be there. I can't wait until the end of the year. No more DADC, no more night shift, back in school, and seeing the wife more regularly. I can't wait.

I am sure I will pick it up again eventually, but that can wait. As it is, we are more than broke so that is a good motivation not to start back just yet. I would also like to get in the swing of the new job before making a major commitment to an MMO again.

Posted on: 2006-02-22 01:45:32[ More - 3 comments ]Damn, has it really been almost 2 weeks since I posted? I really need to get back in the habit of making incoherent posts just for filler I guess. Oh well, todays filler post, and probably the bulk of them until something exciting happens, is about EverQuest. I got my necro up to 51 a couple of days ago, which is one of the milestones I set for myself. Well, technically the milestone was my first alternate advancement point (AA), but you have to be 51 before you can work on them. I could have already had it by this point, but I am tappering my leveling and trying to get into the questing/skilling mode so that when I do get my point I can shift into high gear on other stuff. I should have my point by Friday at the latest.

Classes have not taken off yet, so there is not yet much to talk about with them, most of the sites I check are just rehashing of old/uninterresting stuff, I haven't done anything with the page, and we just really haven't been doing much in the way of exciting or note worthy recent;y. So given the lack of everything else, we have pretty much just been playing EQ. And I am sure if I post too many of those I will get the normal "now all your going to do is sit at your computer" or "good luck having a life" comments. All I do is spend time at my computer and I don't have or want a life. That is pretty much how it has been the last 8 years, I don't foresee it changing, and I am fairly comfortable with that.

Posted on: 2006-01-04 01:01:51[ More - 7 comments ]I have found that I am, once again, totally addicted to EverQuest. The past few days have seen me doing nothing but playing EQ. And yes, this is the actual classic EverQuest, not the newer shinier EverQuest 2, or the emulated Shards of Dalaya. It all started because of SoD, but the combination of the free month Sony was offering for EQ and the fact that the maturity level of the SoD GMs resembles that of thirteen year olds pushed me to EQ. The game has seen a lot of changes since I last played...and a lot is the same. The tutorial is really rather well done and keeps you in quests until around 10, then they have a series of newbie armor quests that I assume span until 20. No clue what is new or changed after that, but I will get there.
